How to Apply

To be eligible to apply for Math Prize 2026, students must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Be in 11th grade or below as of March 1 2026 (and not be slated to graduate from high school or to start full-time college before the contest).
  2. Be female in gender identity.
  3. Live in the United States or Canada. If you don't live in the U.S. or Canada, but are a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, then you may apply. After you submit your application, you must email us at mathprize@atfoundation.org with a scanned image of your US passport or US Permanent resident card.
  4. In November 2025, have taken an official administration of the AMC 10 or AMC 12 exam for the 20252026 competition cycle.

If you meet all these criteria, then we welcome you to fill out our online application. Please review the information in your application carefully. We ask for your scores on the one or two AMC exams that you took. If you aren't sure what your official AMC scores are or which exam(s) you took, please check with your AMC contest manager, usually a math teacher at your school. All scores are verified with the MAA. False information will be grounds for disqualification at any time.

Filling out the application form - Please read:

  • You must fill out at least one of the AMC 10/12 scores in the form. If you have taken both the A and B offerings of the AMC 10/12 exams, fill out both scores.
  • Additionally, if you took an AIME exam in 2026 please fill out the score for that as well in the application form.
  • If you have previously been invited to MP4G, please indicate that on the form.
  • After the application deadline in June, we decide on cutoffs separately for the AMC 10/12 exams and invite contestants who are above the cutoffs for any ONE of the AMC exams. We will also factor in separate cutoffs for the 2026 AIME exams and the past MP4G exams.
  • MOST IMPORTANT: A low score in a second AMC exam will not affect your application if you are above the cutoff in another AMC exam. For example, If your AMC 12A exam is above our cutoff this year but your AMC 10B score is below our cutoff this year, you will get an invitation from us. As we won't know what the cutoffs are for each qualifying exam this year until all the applications are in, we encourage you to put all your scores on the form.

Our application deadline is May 31, 2026We will not accept any applications after this date.  By July 1, we will send you another e-mail message to let you know whether your application to take our exam has been accepted. Selection will be based on official AMC and other scores. We will invite the top 300 of our applicants. Unfortunately, we do not have room to invite all of our applicants.
